Hij overleed helaas veel te vroeg op 29 december 2007 op 67 jarige leeftijd te Leusden.

 The old man and the ocean

Is a love affair full of sweet emotion

Fishing is his favorite past time

And inspiration for his poetry and rhyme

 

When the tenggiri run around Pangandaran’s peninsula

And the small fish scatter before the powerful tuna

You can find the old man on the Indian ocean

Full of happiness and sweet emotion
